Small Engine Technician

- Must be familiar or willing to learn hydraulic tool repairs, i.e. Hydraulic drills, grinders, impacts
- Be able to repair and maintain material to manufacturers' specification, i.e. backpack blowers, saws, drills, impacts 2 stroke, 4 stroke engines and Chain sharpening
- Ability to learn how specialized equipment operates and is repaired
- Follow PNR Railworks and Railworks corporate policies
- Responsibly operates company vehicles and/or equipment and ensures all daily maintenance and inspections of the units are completed
- Performs special duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman
- Performs any administrative duties related to proper documentation as per the PNR Railworks-GO Maintenance Division Quality Management System
- A minimum of 2 years related experience in the similar discipline
- Certificate of Recognition Small Engine Technician Certificate (435A)
- Ontario G Driver's License
- Ability to read and understand specific documents including schedules, schematics, drawings and specifications.
- Ability to understand and efficiently carry out instructions.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of computers, tablets etc.

- Be familiar with warranty items

- Own tools required (basic tools a must) (Specialty tools would be shop tools)

- Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds
- Exposed to loud noise (PPE is required)
