- Execute age-appropriate activities and programs for youth participants by following provided program outlines/lesson plans
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate games, sports and other creative projects to keep youth engaged
- Supervise outdoor play and indoor program sessions ensuring a safe and secure environment
- Provide mentorship, offering guidance and support to youth as a positive role model
- Enforce safety protocols during all activities chaperone age appropriate field trips/outings
- Keep record of program activities and attendance
- Work closely with other summer youth workers and staff to ensure smooth program operations
- Attend team meetings
- Promote teamwork and collaboration among youth through group participation and activities
- Foster a sense of community and inclusivity
- General upkeep of program space, and supply inventory
- Donation pick ups and sorting when required
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
