Why is this role important?The Team Lead, working closely with the Marketing Manager and other leads within the Marketing and Communications Branch, is responsible for leading and providing guidance to drive up awareness and engagement of CIHI's products and services. Along with their team, the lead will implement strategies using marketing automation technology and customer relationship management (CRM) software to automate client engagement activities, improving efficiency and client satisfaction.The Team Lead will participate in the development and implementation of research strategies and surveys to address CIHI's evolving research needs in support of, business performance, product and service insights, and persona development.What you'll do
  • Leverage technical knowledge to lead the implementation and optimization of CIHI's marketing automation system (Marketo) to enhance email marketing effectiveness and streamline CIHI's marketing processes.
  • Provide guidance to Digital Marketing and Insights team in the development and execution of the strategies to increase engagement with CIHI's products and services, focusing on personalization and segmentation to deliver tailored content to target audiences.
  • Stay up to date and comply with relevant regulations and best practices such as Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL) and Bill 64 to ensure ethical and legal marketing practices and building internal awareness about these regulations
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of CIHI's customer relationship management (CRM) system to ensure accurate data management, segmentation, and effective communication with customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse user behaviour and preferences and utilize insights to enhance product and service engagement through targeted email campaigns and communications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyse their research needs and priorities and provide timely and relevant research and survey guidance with the support of your team and external consultation to gather client feedback and insights to inform marketing and communications strategies and product development efforts, as well assess and improve organizational performance.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff. Supervises, motivates, coaches, coordinates and monitors work, workload and performance of staff to ensure that quality is maintained and that learning opportunities are provided. Conducts annual performance management reviews. Assists in recruiting qualified staff and providing orientation and training to the assigned portfolio.
  • Responsible for the creation, and assignment of work plans, including but not limited to marketing and communications plans and campaign plans for corporate initiatives and products, definition of tasks and milestones, resource planning, overall project scheduling, monitoring, issue resolution and reporting progress to the team. Collaborate with delivery teams within the Communications and Client Experience Division to deliver on production of campaigns.
  • Provides regular progress reports, manages resources, identifies issues, priorities and risks and makes recommendations to the manager.
  • Assists the Manager in the department's strategic and operational planning.
What you'll bring to the table
  • Undergraduate bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing, with a focus on digital marketing, marketing automation, email marketing, and market research methodologies.
  • One to three years' experience working with integrated Client Relationship Management Systems.
  • Strong technical background and proven experience in implementing and optimizing marketing automation systems, preferably Marketo.
  • Certification in Marketo or other relevant marketing automation platforms is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment. One year demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven marketing, with the ability to interpret metrics and insights to drive decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of best practices in email marketing, segmentation, personalization, and customer journey optimization.
  • Experience in conducting marketing research initiatives and deploying surveys to gather customer insights is an assets.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements.
  • Fluency in both official languages is strongly preferred.
