- In-depth knowledge or transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices across Canada and/or US
- Strong business and financial acumen

- Proficient in fleet management software and technologies
- Ability to adapt to changing regulatory landscapes and proactively implement compliance measures
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Automotive or related field is preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Valid passport for cross border travel
- 5+ years’ experience managing a company fleet program
- Experience partnering with a fleet management vendor
- Experience managing fleet costs/expenses and implementing best practices to optimize the fleet investment
- Experience leading or participating in DOT/CVOR/other audits
- Oversee and manage compliance with federal, state, and provincial regulations, governing fleet operations in both Canada and the US
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve compliance processes and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements
- Manage driver compliance and mileage reporting requirements
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and transportation regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure fleet policies and procedures are communicated effectively
- Coordinate the transition and assignment of fleet between employees or regions as required
- Stay abreast of legislative changes and industry trends, providing proactive guidance to maintain compliance
- Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, ensuring open communication and timely resolution of compliance-related matters
- Investigate and address compliance violations, implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements
- Meet all commercial vehicle regulated requirements such as IRP, IFTA, DOT, ELD, National Safety Code, Transport Canada and all commercial vehicle related state and provincial requirements
- Manage master fleet data and provide reports as required
- Manage insurance claims and local dealer/repair shop repairs
- Act as the main point of contact with Fleet Vendor on maintenance program and fleet procurement
- Prepare budgetary proposals annually for fleet procurement and manage the offboarding of aged fleet to ensure optimal fleet mix at all times
- Review and analyze fleet reporting including fuel billing, fleet billing and GSP data
- Other duties as required
