- Liaise with executive team, SOCAN departments and other stakeholders to develop and execute Royalty Collections department objectives
- Lead and manage operational teams to achieve revenue, cost control and operational targets
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Work in collaboration with the Reproduction Rights department to streamline processes
- Work in collaboration with Entandem to ensure operational processes that are linked with SOCAN are streamlined
- Oversee SOCAN’s domestic performing rights revenue for Traditional Media and New Media
- Lead agreement negotiations with digital services in order to maximize SOCAN revenue and Member earnings
- Lead the development of new tariffs and modifications to existing tariffs for submission to the Copyright Board
- Develop and manage overall domestic budget and forecasts for Media and New Media
- Liaise with the Reproduction Rights department on budget and forecasts for New Media
- Develop and maintain high-level stakeholder relationship with trade associations, other collectives and international management rights organizations
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to support revenue growth
- Staff engagement on corporate objectives and organizational values
- Other duties, as required
- Minimum three (3) years of senior management (Director) and people leader experience
- Experience in negotiating licensing agreements preferred
- Knowledge of Copyright Act and tariffs
- Operations and financial acumen including experience in budgeting, forecasting, target setting, operational planning and workforce management.
- Demonstrated experience in analysis, planning and execution of strategic initiatives
- Computer skills, required: MS Office, Internet Excellent communication skills – written and oral Strong interpersonal skills
