OverviewHexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division is looking for a highly motivated Hardware Repair Technician to join our Hardware & Lifecycle Reliability Team.In this role, you wil repair, test and support electronic, microprocessor-based systems and radio communications equipment including, issue identification and resolution for equipment based on client mine sites and on Hexagon Mining premises.Additionally, you will address challenging technical issues with current and future products.The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.ResponsibilitiesAs a Hardware Repair Technician , responsibilities include:
  • Provide Customer support for products distributed by Hexagon Mining in Canada for the mining industry.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding return of the products (logistics) and repair progress.
  • Manage customer relationships as required for Hexagon Mining to best support our customers.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair failed electronics equipment in Novatel’s Calgary office.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Reporting requirements as required by Hexagon Mining Global HW Field Service, Team Lead, and Repair Manager (activity reports, fault / issue logs etc).
  • Analyze and facilitate process improvement for technical service department, within sphere of influence.
  • Identify problems and repairing / replacing equipment.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvements inititives to improve process efficiency.
  • Compliance with Hexagon’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required from time to time.
QualificationsMust-Have:
  • Trade certificate in Electronics or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience troubleshooting and repair of products.
  • Substantial demonstrated commercial experience in supporting, diagnosing and troubleshooting diverse and varied environments with a particular focus on electronic / electrical repairs.
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Word & Excel (for troubleshooting, site logs and email).
  • Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) fluently in English.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
