- Building and implementing strategic internal communication plans to support organizational culture, employee experience and organizational objectives
- Leading change communication efforts during periods of organizational change or transition
- Developing and executing comprehensive internal communication plans and strategies that align with BURNCO's goals, values, and priorities
- Creating and delivering compelling communication materials, including newsletters, emails, intranet content, videos, and presentations
- Managing internal communication channels, including intranet, email newsletters, town halls, and employee meetings
- Growing the Company’s social media presence across all relevant platforms and creating metrics to measure the impact on the Company’s brand and profitability
- Leading the social media specialist, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback
- Planning, producing and distributing all internal and external HR communication, utilizing social media and regular employee electronic newsletters and bulletins
- Fostering a culture of transparency and open communication by providing regular updates on company news, policies, and initiatives
- Collaborating with the HR department to support the Company’s recruiting, retention, engagement and development strategies, including implementation, execution, and maintenance of an employer marketing strategy
- Developing and maintaining communication guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness
- Supporting and capturing stories on employee recognition and community-engagement activities
- Assisting with website content and ensuring the Company’s Internet presence maximizes engagement with employees, customers and communities
- Measuring and analyzing communication metrics to evaluate the impact of internal communication efforts and make data-driven decisions
- Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in internal communications and employee engagement
- Strong writing skills essential for crafting clear, concise, and engaging messages tailored to different audiences within the organization. This includes emails, newsletters, intranet content, memos, and other communication materials
- Effective verbal communications which are crucial for presenting information, leading meetings, delivering presentations, and facilitating discussions with employees at all levels of the organization
- Must be able to think strategically and align communication initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
- Deep understanding of employee needs, motivations, and concerns is required. Skilled at fostering and enhancing the employee experience through open, transparent communication, and by creating opportunities for feedback and dialogue.

- Be adept at managing change communication by effectively communicating the reasons for change, addressing concerns, and guiding employees through transitions.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, HR professionals, and employees across the organization, is essential for success. This involves active listening, empathy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Strong project management skills are necessary to plan, execute, and evaluate communication campaigns and initiatives effectively
- Knowledge and skills to maintain and enhance brand identity, ensuring consistency across all communication channels
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, market dynamics, and emerging trends in the industry
- Capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including HR, Safety and Sales Teams
- Crisis management and the ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively in high-stress situations is essential
- Continuous learning and willingness to stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in internal communications
- Proven experience in communications and marketing roles, demonstrating a successful track record
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful internal communication strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences
- Ability to think strategically and translate ideas into actionable plans
- Experience working with senior leadership and managing stakeholder relationships
- Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and marketing analytics
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines

- The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular work week from Monday to Friday.
- On-call availability may be required as needed
- As some travel will be required to site locations a valid Drivers License is required, as well as an up-to-date Passport for occasional travel across the Canada/United States border
