- Work under the direction of the Supervisor/Coordinator/Manager or delegate to perform a variety of scheduling and administrative support functions and provide home support services to clients.
- Plan and adjust Community Health Worker (CHW) schedules in advance and allocate work assignments to CHW in accordance with client referrals, care plans and applicable collective agreements.
- Respond to inquiries related to the scheduling of Home Support Services.
- Maintain timekeeping records for staff, complete appropriate documentation to process employee transactions such as requests for vacation, sick leave, and leaves of absence.
- Assist clients with the activities of daily living within varied settings to promote maximum independence, observe and document on client’s health condition and environment, report significant and unsafe observations and provide support and guidance.
- Provide input and feedback in the care planning process, assist in meeting the nutritional and elimination needs of clients, and perform delegated tasks under the Transfer of Function guidelines for clients in specific situations for which training has been provided.
- Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Home Support/Resident Care Aide program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Two years’ recent related experience coordinating, preparing and adjusting home support schedules or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience in Customer Service and/or a high paced Call Centre is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License. Local travel requires the use of a personal vehicle.
- Home management skills.
- Physical ability to carry out duties of the position.
- Ability to operate required equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
- Working knowledge of applicable collective agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressures, to multi-task, and to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to schedule Community Care Assistance for client visits.
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate potential problems/conflicts and take appropriate action.
- Ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in the application of software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated skill in respectful, diplomatic and tactful communication.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm when communicating in difficult situations
