THE ROLE:Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day execution of shipments. This role will coordinate all shipping and customs arrangements, providing exceptional service to our business units. In this role the Logistics Coordinator will work with external and internal cross functional teams and departments to achieve our goals and objectives.RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure company safety policies are being followed.
Responsible for arranging and coordinating all outbound freight and customs operations for the business. Including:
LTL, FTL, LCL, FCL shipments.
RGN, Flatbed, heavy haul shipments.
Small parcel shipments.
Intercompany shipments.
Responsible for arranging and coordinating inbound freight and customs operations for the business when needed.
LTL, FTL, LCL, FCL shipments.
RGN, Flatbed, heavy haul shipments.
Small parcel shipments.
Intercompany shipments.
RORO shipments as required.
Responsible for arranging and coordinating all outbound freight and customs operations for the business.
Ensure all required shipping documents are created and distributed as required. (BOL's, CI's, PS's, B13's, etc.)
Process and track all freight and customs claims in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the inventory and warehouse teams daily, fostering a strong cross functional team.
Jump in and assist the team with day-to-day functions and lead by example.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance transportation processes, technologies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Post secondary credentials in supply chain, customs law and or transportation.
CITT, CSCB or APICS certifications are preferred but not limiting.Experience:Minimum 2 years of shipping/receiving, US customs and overseas shipping required.Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge:Advanced knowledge of transportation, import/export and international shipping functions.
Experience arranging heavy haul and RGN moves.
Excellent understanding of trade regulations and agreements.
Prior experience creating shipping and customs documents.
Familiar with freight claims processes.
Attention to detail, creating and reviewing shipments and documents
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently.
Ability to identify actionable tasks and self-start.
