- Manage patients efficiently with attention to length of stay and care transitions
- Champion inpatient initiatives to improve overall quality, safety, and patient experience.
- Perform academic bedside teaching rounds with strong interest in medical resident supervision and evaluation.
- Perform rounds on the medical wards coordinating patient care.
- Perform patient history and physical examinations on admission to the hospital
- Manage consultatively the care of patients on the surgical, nursing home, behavioral health, and spinal cord units.
- Provide highly detailed and quality documentation in the medical record with attention to completion of encounters
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- DEA License
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
- DEA License
- For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract.
- Pass a Child abuse and neglect check.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance
