Calling all PRINT/PACKAGING MACHINE OPERATORS WITH EXPERIENCE OPERATING MODULAR PRINTING PRESSES!!
Our HUGE AND EXTREMELY REPUTABLE client in MISSISSAUGA, who operates in a whopping 300 facilities worldwide and employs over 58,000 people across the globe, is searching for skilled machine operators who have worked on MODULAR PRINTING MACHINERY for packaging or label production at some point in their career.This is a DIRECT HIRE position, meaning you will have a PERMANENT JOB with our client's company from DAY ONE.They currently have TWO OPENINGS FOR THIS ROLE. One opening on AFTERNOON SHIFT and one opening on NIGHT SHIFT (BOTH WITH A SHIFT PREMIUM OF AN INCREDIBLE $2.75 PER HOUR ON TOP OF BASE RATE!!!). These are STRAIGHT SHIFTS, NO ROTATIONS, MONDAY - FRIDAY SCHEDULES.Shift times/schedules for each are as follows:‣ Afternoon Shift (35 hours per week):
  • Monday to Thursday - 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Friday - 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM
‣ Night Shift (36 hours per week):
  • Monday to Thursday - 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Off on Fridays

The employee holding this position is responsible for setting up and operating the line of machinery. They will be operating KIRK-RUDY MODULAR MACHINERY FOR LABEL MANUFACURING.They will be responsible for teaching the job tasks that are performed by Press Assistants to any staff members assigned to support the Operator on this line.The Press Operator reports to the Lead Hand, and in addition to overseeing Press Assistants, is also responsible for performing general activities on Kirk-Rudy modular machinery including:‣ Set-up ahead of each job
‣ Operation of the machine during each run
‣ Changeovers between runs
‣ Loading
‣ Taking off finished product
‣ Packing of finishing machines
‣ Operating small finishing machine
‣ Performing periodic quality checksMore detailed, and machine-specific responsibilities include:‣ Feed product from KR224DM Shuttle Feeder with double detect
‣ Transfer onto a KR519 Base. Read the 1D barcode on product to verify SKU# and to start the number sequence from the beginning or where it left off in the database
‣ Transfer onto a KR480L
‣ Transfer onto a KR519 with infeed registration table
‣ If bad read, then track, and divert with a KR837VL divert
‣ Transfer onto a KR314S Shingle conveyor for sorting
‣ Make machine adjustments in order to maintain machine at safety, quality and production standards.
‣ Use and wear all protective devices/clothing as requested, this includes ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and any food safety personal protective equipment (PPE)
‣ Maintain a clean and safe work environment
‣ Perform minor maintenance and repairs on the small machines
‣ Read and follow directions on job tickets and be aware of overall production scheduling, ensuring each run stays on schedule
‣ Continuously check for quality defects, troubleshoot, and advise team lead/supervisor of any issues requiring escalated support
‣ Perform other duties as assignedQualifications
‣ Must have at LEAST 3+ years operating other modular print/packaging production machinery
‣ Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
‣ Must have basic-mid level abilities in mathematics and measurement comprehension
‣ Must have basic computer skills
‣ Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record
‣ Must be willing to work overtime during significant increases in production projects
‣ Must be comfortable teaching other employees about Kirk-Rudy job tasks
‣ Must be personable and contribute positively to the overall company culture
