- Prepares weekly payroll;
- Accounts receivable and payable
- Prepares and performs check runs;
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices;
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances;
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries;
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos;
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions;
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
- Corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries;
- Participates in the implementation of new accounting procedures;
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Miscellaneous accounting duties as required
- Completion of an Accounting Diploma considered an asset
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent written and oral communication in both English
- Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Comfortable learning new software (will be trained on industry specific software)
- Comfortable working in a blue collar environment
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset
