- Ensure open and direct communication for reports and analysis at the request of senior management .
- Participation in the development of company strategy as a member of the management team.
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reports as required, including monthly closing procedures.
- Management of balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate recording of assets and liabilities.
- Implementation of cash management and reporting controls.
- Recommendation of improved accounting and reporting systems, with provision of analysis for the development of financial policies and procedures.
- Preparation of year-end audit working papers and analysis of accounts.
- Preparation of annual R&D application and government communications.
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Preparation and analysis of various manufacturing/production and job cost reports.
- Monitoring and approval of invoices for payment to ensure validity of charges, as well as management of sales credit insurance and customer credit limits.
- Daily monitoring of sales, variances and margins.
- Management of accounting processes (A/P, A/R, payroll, etc.).
- Responsibility and maintenance of group insurance reports, CSST, etc.
- Supervision of administrative staff and accounting/data entry clerks.
- Inventory management and implementation of internal controls.
- Monitoring and debugging of accounting software implementation.Qualifications
The qualifications required for this position are as follows:- CPA designation (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience as a financial controller
- Bilingual (French/English) written and spoken
- Experience in the food industry an asset
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and PC environment
- The person must be proactive, a team player, able to multi-task and prioritize important files.Summary
