Responsibilities
  • Govern the supplier's materials management program including their inspection and evaluation, verification and validation of certificates of analysis, communications with suppliers as required and releases according to the priorities of the departments involved (production, inventory, warehouse etc.)
  • Take care of the program for approbation, validation and releases of the raw material / finished products of subcontractors including their inspection and the evaluation at reception, verification and validation of the certificates of analysis, communication of subcontractors if necessary and the releases according to priorities of the departments involved (production, customer service, inventory, etc.)
  • Govern the extension management program / expiration / destruction of raw materials including the evaluation and validation in collaboration with the R&D department, drafting of the necessary reports, monitoring and communications with the departments involved (production, planning and inventories)
  • Manage supplier and sub-contractors complaints and communications with the quality representatives for suppliers / subcontractors, complaint reports, monitoring steps taken for corrective actions, monthly reports on monitoring and effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of existing systems such as extension systems, for the release and evaluation of raw materials. Develop KPI performance metrics and efficiency of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Participate in the assessment program of raw material in close collaboration with the HACCP coordinator, updating of used up raw materials, risk management of ingredients, risk management of suppliers and supply the appropriate literature to validate the risks associated to used raw materials
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of applying the norms of hygiene and cleanliness HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Serves as a backup for the QC technician role if replacement is necessary
  • Participate in internal and external quality auditions (ACIA, clients, Kosher, certifications etc…)
  • Participate in employee trainings and develop specific training in its field of competence
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of new quality systems related to new plant transformation methods. Write Quality Policies and Procedures as needed.
Requirements
  • Essential - DEC / BAC in Food Science and Technology / Microbiology
  • Essential - Minimum 2 years of experience in the food industry
Knowledge and abilities
  • Essential - Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Essential - Knowledge of standards: HACCP, GMP, GFSI, SQF, CFIA, Kosher and Allergens
