In Home Support Worker - Community Focused Job Description"Living well" means something different to each of us. Port City Home Services is looking for competent In Home Support Workers (IHSW) to join our team. As an IHSW, your main responsibility will be to care for our clients in a professional and compassionate manner in their own homes to "live well."Duties include but are not limited to:Assisting with personal care (bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, and exercise)Basic food preparation (preparing meals, shopping, housekeeping, laundry and other errands)General health care (medication and appointment reminders)Mobility Assistance (help with getting in and out of a wheelchair, car or shower)Companionship and emotional supportHome Organization (help with organizing, packing or cleaning, general house care)Health monitoring (following a care plan and noticing any changes in the individual's health, recording and reporting any differences)Transportation (driving to and from activities, running errands, and help getting in and out of wheelchair accessible vehiclesJob requirements and qualifications:18 years of age or olderProven experience as an IHSWExcellent knowledge of emergency and first aidDriver's license and access to vehicle an assetAbility to work independentlyAbility to work shift workKnowledge of housekeeping activities and cookingAdhere to health and safety standardsBe respectful and compassionateExcellent time management skillsOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsStrong ethicsPhysical enduranceIf interested in pursuing this rewarding role as an IHSW with Port City Home Services, please send your resume to hr@portcityhomeservices.ca.**All IHSW must supply a copy of a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check within two weeks of hire. **
