Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Principal of Maria Montessori Academy, the maintenance supervisor's responsibility will be the development, monitoring, and implementation of the school maintenance department budget and staff. This position will require that the individual work and experience all operational facets of the School (capital, maintenance, custodial and busing).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and implement a Capital & Operational budget

Manage capital funds

Manage and administer contract documents

Liaise with external partners including City and Municipal authorities, Consultants, and School Administration

Ensure school compliance on WorkSafe BC regulations and building codes

Working as a team member in the operational areas of the school

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of trades related certificate - preference will be given to a journeyman carpenter

Minimum five - ten years’ experience in the construction industry, school environment experience would be an asset

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective work relations

Clear criminal record check
