This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained hotel environment and providing excellent guest experience.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- 4th Class Stationary certificate is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a maintenance mechanic; experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and locks.
- Appropriate Trade Certificates and post-secondary education is an asset.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts, weekdays, evenings, overnight and weekends.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on hotel equipment and tools.
- Maintain, adjust, and repair plumbing facilities such as but not limited to pipes, toilets, floor drains and sinks.
- Maintain, adjust, and repair electrical facilities such as light fixtures, lamps, switch replacements, receptacle replacements, small appliances and wiring.
- Conduct scheduled inspections on HVAC equipment, identify issues and initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records on assigned tasks and ensure that all safety systems on equipment are operable.
- Perform basic maintenance to door lock systems including installation and programming.
- Perform daily walk around inspections of hotel and maintain daily log of work completed.
- Perform annual cleaning of the domestic boilers, heating boilers, and the steam boiler.
- Respond to guests, departmental requests and tasks generated through Synergy MMS.
- Perform all duties required as Fire Alarm Response Team.
- Follows all company policies and procedures; ensures clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintains confidentiality of proprietary information; protects company assets.
