Summary

The Senior Manager, Finance is responsible for leading the financial reporting and controlling for Ipsen Canada. In this role you will collaborate with shared services functions to ensure all identified services are being delivered to agreed upon standards and complete month end sales gross to net reporting.

Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring Ipsen Canada compliance with the global internal control roadmap as well as complete financial planning and analysis processes including personnel cost planning and provides business partnering to assigned internal customers.

Main Responsibilities / Job Expectations

Financial Reporting and Controlling

• Lead the month, quarter and year end close activities working in collaboration with Finance Shared Services. Establish and communicate month end and year end process & timelines to internal stakeholders.

• Manage the monthly sales reporting and gross-to-net adjustments including provincial rebates, co-pays, discounts and returns. Utilize price forecasting models to account for pricing deals, liaising with pricing and analytics teams.

• Responsible for monthly financial reporting deck with focus on accuracy and value-added insight.

• Identify, interpret and explain budget and expense variances; Identify corrective actions.

• Complete statutory reporting requirements and government statistic submissions (PMPRB, Revenue Canada, & StatsCan provincial.

• Liaison with Corporate insurance / local broker to provide required information to complete insurance renewals and ensure appropriate protection of risks.

• Liaises with and ensures shared services functions deliver to Canada service level agreements: purchase to pay, record to report, T&E, accounts receivable, account payables and fleet.

• Work in collaboration with shared services Tax team to complete Tax / Transfer pricing tasks.

Internal Controls

• Lead and manage internal control initiatives to ensure compliance to global and local policies. Implement actions plans to address any identified deficiencies. Complete annual self-assessment questionnaire. Manage group internal audits scheduled by corporate team.

Financial Planning/Business Partnering/Projects

• Complete personnel budgets for all employees / monitor performance vs plan (utilize salary planning tool).

• Deliver top tier business partnering to the assigned business areas to drive performance, with focus on expense management, planning and resource optimization.

• Lead and/or participates in corporate driven projects/initiatives as well as process improvement initiatives as assigned or directed.

Knowledge, abilities & experience

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

• University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Commerce.

• Manager Level

• Minimum 4 years of progressive finance experience in the Canadian business environment.

• Sr Manager Level

• Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience in the Canadian business environment.

• Pharmaceutical industry experience in Canada an asset.

• Strong sense of urgency and initiative.

• Work independently and with autonomy in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

• Strong business and financial acumen.

• Excellent communication (especially written) and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated process thinker with a strong detail orientation.

• Systems knowledge - SAP, TM1, MicroStrategy.
