I'm Amy and I'm looking for our first VP of Finance or CFO to lead our incredible Finance Team!You'll bring at least ten (10) years of mid-senior level experience in a Finance role, working directly with C-Suite and Leadership Teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take your Finance career to the next level in an environment that's incredibly unique (you'll work alongside musicians and creatives!).As the VP of Finance (or CFO), you will oversee all financial activities within Musora and work alongside the Leadership Team to provide strategic leadership, and financial planning, and drive initiatives to optimize the company's financial performance and growth.To Apply: Please answer our application questions and provide a thoughtful cover letter telling us what makes you uniquely qualified for this role.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesYou'll be Developing Financial Strategies and Oversight:Provide insights and recommendations for investments, funding, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.Develop and execute financial strategies for short and long-term company objectives.Establish and supervise fiscal policies, systems, and procedures for accurate financial reporting and robust controls.Roadmap the optimization of new and existing technology and processes.Drive departmental operations for actionable financial data and continuous improvement.Lead financial planning, analyzing KPIs, models, and forecasts.Analyze financial performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.Manage budgeting, trend analysis, fund allocation, and cash management.Oversee the timely generation of financial statements.Support, train, and empower the finance and accounting team.Key QualificationsProfessional Accounting designation (CPA), MBA, or equivalent.Proven experience (at least 10 years) in a Mid-Senior Finance role, working directly with Leadership and C-Suite.Proven experience with Mergers & Acquisitions and funding strategies.Proven experience managing a team.In-depth comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting principles, laws and best practices.Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).Solid understanding of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.Proficiency in the English language (written and verbal).Ability to exhibit the Company's Core Values: Empathy, Passion, and Grit.Excellent communication, both written and verbal.Excellent Organizational and Leadership skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.Ability to think outside the box for ways to improve current processes.Key Performance Indicators (KPI):Finance department costs as a percent of revenue (efficiency & continual improvement)Days to close month-end and year-end (efficiency)Time to Conduct Budget and Planning Process (efficiency)Reporting StructureReports to the Chief Operating OfficerManages the Finance Team of six individualsThis role is Onsite/Hybrid, coming in onsite at least three (3) days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely at our office in Abbotsford, BC.What We Offer You$150,000-$400,000 CAD/year, between base, bonus and stock options, based on experience.Health, Prescriptions, Dental, and Vision Benefits for full-time/permanent positions - we care about our employees and we want to make sure YOU have the benefits you need to stay healthy and well.Paid time off - we understand and value the importance of rest and recovery and that includes time away from work!Onsite parking, on-site gym, and office events (on-site & virtual)!
