The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in moving Freshstone Brands products to our customers in a timely manner, as well as inbound raw material requirements. They are responsible for the execution and coordination of all transportation matters within the Facility. Logistics Coordinator plans, and implements vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communication functions in accordance with established policies and objectives to effect economical utilization of assets. This includes managing and organizing schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, further ensuring that drivers are aware of their duties. Assures department is in compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and programs. The Logistics Coordinator links all the processes involved, from obtaining the raw materials through to delivering the finished goods to the customer. As well as adhering to budgetary requirements laid out by management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange Couriers for R&D/Sales teams and other departments as requested.
- Work with the DC Management, Procurement & Logistics Specialist (LS) ensuring all carriers receive Load confirmations in advance of shipping & or pickups.
- Work with Customer Service team to ensure all orders are in and accurate for customs documentation to be processed, if required (US shipments)
- Confer with shipping dept when loads will be ready for carriers to pick up. Book appts accordingly
- Create and submit BOL and border paperwork for the carrier network.
- Assist LS with Network shipments when required departing from Freshstone facilities.
- Arrange day to day pick up for both Steinway & Kitchener, alongside LS.
- Coordinate internal freight through existing interbranch transfer.
- Provide essential documentation for internal reporting to LS for various Reports and tracking.
- Provide coverage for Sick/Vac days of LS where applicable.
