Reporting to the Manager or designate, works as a member of a senior team responsible for the planning, implementation, and operational delivery of data, voice and video network services to meet VIHA's operational, tactical and strategic objectives. Recommends, creates and reviews plans for changes to the network infrastructure and services required to meet current and future business needs. Develops standards for network infrastructure equipment, configuration, deployment processes and operational support activities required to maximize the availability, functionality and utilization of the network. Acts as a senior consultative resource providing work direction and a point of escalation for Network Techs and Network Analysts and other IM/IT technical staff. Provides tier-3 operational support of the network infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, graduation from a recognized two-year computer systems technology diploma program, plus three (3) years' recent related experience (such as experience in network administration and supervision or leadership) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (such as providing clear, concise system documentation/procedures for others).
- Ability to operate related equipment (such as managing a variety of network infrastructure components and services and new technologies introduced to the workplace).
- Ability to deal with others effectively (such as providing work direction and mentorship).
- Ability to organize work (such as working independently and setting priorities for self and others).
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the job.
