We have joined together and become Canada’s premier consulting firm in providing multi-disciplined engineering and environmental services to a range of private and public sector clients, both domestically and abroad.Your role at GEI.We are seeking an Intermediate Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Infrastructural Renewal, Design and Construction (IRDC) team to provide engineering solutions for water and wastewater projects for both municipal and private clients. This position will involve work on all aspects of project delivery as described below.Essential Responsibilities & DutiesDeliver infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater facilities, including water and wastewater pumping stations, storage structures, valve chambers, treatment projects, pressure pipelines, condition assessments, feasibility studies, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, preliminary and detailed design, construction contract administration, commissioning support and training.Communicating with internal discipline leads, sub-consultants, clients, contractors, and Regulatory agencies such as the Ministry of Environment, local Municipalities, and conservation authoritiesWork together with a dynamic team of subject matter expertsLead and/or support activities such as proposal preparation, report writing, cost estimation, engineering drawing preparation, tendering, construction contract administration, and site inspectionAttend client meetings and conduct site visitsContribute to team initiatives related to continuous improvementMinimum QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in OntarioMinimum of 5 years of civil/process engineering experience with a focus on water and wastewater projects in OntarioAbility to work on multiple projects concurrently, managing your own time and priorities in communication with other project managers and team leadershipAbility to build relationships and trust with internal and external team membersStrong organizational, oral, written communication and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment fundamentalsProficient with Microsoft Office SuitePossess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicleKnowledge of provincial drinking water and wastewater regulations, Ministry of Environment Design Guidelines, and the Ontario Building CodeWe are GEI.Some of the world’s most pressing problems – from climate change to sustainable development, to critical infrastructure and the future of our energy supply – need our brightest and diverse minds working together to create safer, more resilient communities for tomorrow.We are technical experts, collaborators, and entrepreneurs who draw from diverse backgrounds to solve our clients’ most complex challenges.With approximately 60 offices across North America, we offer a range of engineering, science, and technical consulting services.
