Job Description:Job Description At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for a Pharmacist to support our Pharmacy department. The Pharmacist will be responsible for providing medication distribution, drug information and education services to patients and staff in a traditional dispensing system. You will be involved in interacting with other interprofessional team members and patients to determine the most appropriate and effective course of treatment for patients and implement interventions in accordance with the standards of practice for the discipline. ResponsibilitiesProvision of drug information to healthcare professionalsSupport for the Pharmaceuticals and Therapeutics Committee, as delegated by the ManagerMaintenance of the drug formularyAssisting with the management of drug shortages, including identification of alternatives treatments, developing protocols for restrictive use, and communication of selected alternatives and shortages to SHSParticipate in the development and maintenance of medication use policiesParticipate in educational services, and supporting pharmacy learnersProvide an orientation to Drug Information services to new staff and traineesAssist the Information services team with the development of medication content details to ensure clarity, integration and safety for the Computerized Practitioner Order Entry systems, the Pharmacy system and the electronic MARSupport Pharmacy department quality improvement and medication management auditsOther duties as assigned by the Manager Job RequirementsBaccalaureate degree in PharmacyPart A License to practice with the Ontario College of PharmacistsPrevious related experience in a hospital setting is requiredExcellent oral and written English communication skillsProficiency in using Microsoft Office SuitePrevious experience with Meditech is an assetMembership with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) is preferred Sinai Health is a leading academic health science centre with a provincial, national and international reputation for discovering and delivering life-changing care.
