Operations include two manufacturing plants located in Edmonton and Customer Solution Centres located in Langley, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg.We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join our Edmonton, Plant 3 team. This individual is responsible for primarily responsible for the business function of production in a lean manufacturing environment. The implementation of the principles and techniques of Lean Manufacturing are directed by the Production Supervisor on the shop floor. The overall goal of the Production Supervisor is to accomplish safe, high quality, cost effective achievement of the production schedule so that commitments to customers, employees, and suppliers are fulfilledThe Ideal Candidate will bring a proven track record of supervisory experience and demonstrated leadership ability in a multi-cultural workforce. They will bring knowledge of flow-line production, lean manufacturing, and experience in the manufacturing industry.Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor responsibilities will include:Nurturing a safe & secure work environment for all employees and fostering compliance with all OH&S regulationsSupervise, coach and mentor anywhere from 10-20 employees to perform work correctly to meet safety, quality, production, and cost requirementsEffectively holds employees accountable for their performance; ensuring targets are met by identifying and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner.Maintain quality standards through observation of employee work practicesMeet company policy standards with regard to environmental impact, waste recycling, etc.Participating in production decision making with other supervisors: contributing to the effectiveness of meetings through good preparation and participationDevelop a positive workplace environment and culture that is characterized by good teamwork, open candid and constructive communication, collaborative working relationships with people from all levels of the business.Control operating expenses as assigned within budget. Provide explanation of variances in a timely way.Ensuring that all production reporting and data collection is completed accurately and on time.May work on production lines when there are not enough production workers to meet production demands, when the plant is over capacity, or to learn a new line.Qualifications include:3-5 years as a Team Leader or other supervisory experience in a large scale, fast pace manufacturing/production environment is preferred.Demonstrated knowledge and application of OH&S regulations.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Lean manufacturing conceptsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization in a multi-cultural production facilityDemonstrated interpersonal skills that provide motivation for employees to increase morale, efficiency and productionAbility to lead, build trust and inspire a teamTechnical Diploma in relevant field would be considered an assetDemonstrated empathy, leadership, decision making, team work, collaboration and organizational skillsExcellent time management skillsFlexibility and availability for shift work & OT is requiredThis is a day shift position that runs from 7:00am - 3:30pm pm Monday-Friday.
