The Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and machinery. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles, equipment, and mechanical systems to keep them in optimal working condition

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal mechanical training program is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic with hands-on expertise in repairing and maintaining various types of vehicles and equipment.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and computerized systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnosis and Repair:

    • Perform thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in vehicles and equipment.
    • Carry out repairs, adjustments, and replacements of faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
    • Use specialized tools and equipment to dismantle, repair, and reassemble parts accurately.
  2. Maintenance:

    • Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and fluid checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
    • Perform scheduled maintenance based on manufacturer guidelines and maintain accurate records of completed services.
  3. Computerized Diagnostics:

    • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot and identify complex electronic and computer-related problems.
    • Interpret diagnostic codes and data to determine necessary repairs and adjustments.
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Ensure vehicles and equipment meet regulatory standards and pass required inspections.
