Engineering Technologist / Engineer Start Date: Immediately Responsibilities:Manage new products from design initiation through manufacturingProduce original designs and modify existing products to meet Client requirementsAssist in solving technical issues forwarded by ClientsCreation of solid models for use in design and manufacturing drawingsDevelop and maintain manufacturing and welding drawingsDevelopment of approval drawings and technical documentation for ClientsPrepare design submissions for Regulatory Authority registrationAssist Sales in communication with Customers and outside Engineers on a technical levelPeriodic domestic and international travel (legally able to enter and exit the U.S.) Skills:Proficiency in 3D modeling with Solidworks design software requiredWorking knowledge of ASME BPVC, CSA and ASME Pipeline CodesBackground in mechanical design and manufacturing in the Oil & Gas IndustryUnderstanding of ASME drawing standards, weldment detailing and Bill of MaterialsKnowledge of mechanism design and theory is an assetStrong computer skillsWorking knowledge of MS Office applicationsWillingness to work in both an office and fabrication shop environmentWillingness to visit fabrication shops and field locations as requiredStrong attention to detail and problem solving abilities with minimal supervision Candidate Profile:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology (Engineering Design and Drafting)Registered P. Eng. (APEGA) or an E.I.T. pursuing a Professional Engineers designation in the Province of Alberta or a Certified Engineering Technologist registered with the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (A.S.E.T.)1-3 Years experience in a manufacturing environmentMust hold themselves responsible for all project activitiesRecognizes areas for self-improvement through continuing education and self studyParticipates in training courses and shows initiative for professional developmentMust possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbalMust possess Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status Job Type:Full time, permanentOn-Site (no remote working)Weekdays (Monday-Friday), 8:00AM to 5:00PMWillingness to work overtime, when requiredCasual dressExtended health/dental benefits and insurance Company Description Must be able to read and write English fluently.
