A District Sales Manager 5+ years’ applicable sales experience is needed in Ontario, Canada. The District Sales Manager will develop and implement a business plan to grow product offerings in a given geographic territory. Territory includes all Canadian provinces from Ontario east. Successful candidate must reside within the territory.

District Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for servicing and training existing dealers and customers. Develop business relationships with new dealers and customers. Continue to increase market share in all product offerings.
  • Manage the sales and growth opportunities in a given geographical territory.
  • Develop a plan which will allow you to capture a minimum of 25% market share in your territory on all target products.
  • Develop and maintain an active project list, which will allow you to meet or exceed annual sales goals.
  • Responsible for developing and managing an annual dealer business plan with dealer principles.
  • Develop strong partnership programs with all dealers in your territory.
  • Responsible for training dealer staff on products and their use.
  • Responsible for conducting sales meetings with dealers, resulting in action plans that will lead to the close of new business.
  • Consult with dealers about advertising and promotion of products.
  • Manage dealer network to support growth plan.
  • When appropriate manage and grow direct customer base in your territory.
  • Develop value proposition over competitive products.
  • Respond to all sales inquiries supplied for your territory.
  • Attend various trade shows to support featured products.
  • Follow up on all leads generated from supported trade shows.
  • Utilize a personal computer for company projects and communications.
  • Develop quotes for all potential opportunities in your territory. Manage the prospects expectation resulting in the close of business.
  • Develop and complete annual forecast goals.
  • Continue to develop and hone selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Must be able to travel extensively in the specified territory as needed.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed.

District Sales Manager Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment, truck, or trailer sales.
  • Proven track record building strong dealer partnerships.
  • Demonstrated success in profitability penetrating and expanding major key accounts.
  • Demonstrated success-building relationships at various levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving personal quotas/goals.
  • Excellent oral communication, written communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Maintain a home-based office with regional travel requirements up to 4/5 days a week.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
