Job Description Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalists who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a Physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications

Certified with the Canadian Association of Physicians Assistants
Current ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Current PALS Certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification, is an asset
Maintain membership in good standing on the SHA Practitioner Staff
Membership and Licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) as a Physician Assistant
Successful Completion of a recognized accredited Physician Assistant educational Program Bachelor of Health Sciences (Physician Assistant)
Valid Driver's License

ExperienceClinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to function both independently and as an active member of the multidisciplinary team in care for all patients
Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy
Demonstrated written and spoken competence in English language
Demonstrates commitment to a diverse, culturally competent and culturally safe health system and representative workforce
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity.
Intermediate computer skills
Is committed to delivering on patient and family centered care
Is committed to qualify, safety and continuous improvement striving towards zero harm
Mobilizes people, inspires and lead by example
Strong analytical and technical skills

Other InformationPreference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria. Additional Information Standby may be required. The Physician Assistant will work in Emergency and provide other acute care service as required. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
