The Senior Manager of Internal Audit will be a key player in transitioning IMCO's internal audit function from an outsourced model to a co-sourced model. This role is critical in assessing the current audit provider, establishing the necessary framework for a co-sourced model, and managing the internal audit process in alignment with IMCO's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the current outsourced internal audit provider and identify areas for improvement.

  • Lead the RFP process to select a suitable co-sourced internal audit provider.

  • Develop and implement an internal audit framework tailored to a co-sourced model.

  • Manage the execution of audits according to the approved plan, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and risk management practices.

  • Oversee risk assessments, audit planning, and resource allocation for each engagement.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding audit activities and outcomes.

  • Supervise audit teams, providing guidance and reviewing work for comprehensiveness and quality.

  • Maintain productive relationships with clients, staff, and external partners.

  • Stay informed of changes in the business environment and internal audit best practices.

  • Represent the internal audit function in organizational projects and management meetings.

  • Propose enhancements to the internal audit processes and methodologies.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) is highly desirable.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal auditing within the financial services, asset management, or pension industry.

  • Proven experience in auditing public and private investment classes.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing audit engagements and leading teams.

  • Familiarity with the transition from outsourced to co-sourced audit models is an asset.

  • In-depth understanding of internal audit standards, risk management, and control frameworks.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of management.

  • Independence in decision-making and action.

  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in conducting RFPs and transitioning audit models.

  • Knowledge of the industry and regulatory environment in which IMCO operates.
