LyfeDesign.com is seeking a Project Coordinator for restaurants and related construction projects. The position will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the design, planning, and construction process,
ensuring the successful completion of restaurant projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The individual will need to collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to execute the project plan efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
    Develop detailed project programs, schedules, and timelines in alignment with project objectives and requirements. Coordinate construction and other on-site activities, including procurement, site preparation, and on-site and off-site construction, to ensure adherence to architectural plans
    and specifications, project timelines, and other milestones. Develop comprehensive project programs, timelines, and schedules in coordination with the design team. Identify project milestones, critical paths, and resource requirements to achieve project objectives efficiently.
  • Budget Management:
    Manage project budgets, ensuring accurate cost estimation and allocation of resources. Monitor project expenses, track financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to mitigate risks of budget overruns.
  • Contract Management:
    Oversee the procurement process, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with vendors and subcontractors. Review and administer construction contracts with management, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management:
    Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the project and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the project plan, and
    take corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent delays.
  • Construction Oversight:
    Coordinate construction activities, including site preparation, building construction, and installation of equipment and fixtures. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety standards and building codes.
  • Design Concept Development:
    Collaborate with the design and operations teams to develop innovative and cohesive design concepts for restaurant and other hospitality spaces, considering both aesthetic appeal and functionality. Coordinate the translation of conceptual design ideas into detailed plans, and specifications for construction and renovation projects.
  • Vendor Management:
    Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers of design materials, fixtures, and furnishings to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement and delivery processes to meet project requirements and deadlines.

  • Management Communication:
    Serve as the primary point of contact for management, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and any issues or delays encountered. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members to foster a cohesive and productive working environment.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    Ensure all contractors and suppliers implement quality assurance protocols to maintain construction and product standards and ensure the delivery of a high-quality finished project. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, zoning ordinances, and building codes
    throughout the design and construction process.

Requirements:

  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, fast thinking.
  • Complete fluency in the English language, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent computer skills including fluency with the Microsoft suite of software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse levels of management.
  • Proven experience as a project coordinator in a complex and face-paced industry, with a focus on restaurant or commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes desirable.
  • Excellent project coordination skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality assurance and risk management.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
