About You

You are able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities. You have familiarity with industrial health, safety and environmental practices and guidelines
The Team
The Seismic Monitoring Services (SMS) Operations department of Nanometrics is looking for an experienced Field Engineer for a full time employment. This role will be part of our Field Operations team and will provide remote contractor support for a global network of monitoring stations. The ideal candidate will coordinate and support field deployment of remote seismic monitoring stations around the world. They would also have experience in the oil & gas, construction, mining, telecom or related industries working with low-voltage electrical, instrumentation and communication systems.
The Role
Own all aspects of the entire lifecycle of instrumentation in a geographic area (testing, deployment, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning).
Own all aspects of scheduling and coordinating subcontractors working on behalf of Nanometrics within their geographic area which includes: issuing work orders, reviewing and approving invoicing, and tracking project spend.
Own management of inventory of instrumentation assets across multiple geographic warehouses.
Own the development and execution of annual maintenance and operating budgets for their geographic area of responsibility.
Troubleshoot remote station communication, data quality, instrumentation and power systems problems remotely as well as initiate and coordinate maintenance and equipment servicing site visits to maximize data availability.
Assist in driving continuous improvements in the Nanometrics HSE, project management and field operation guidelines based on experience and industry best practices
Be willing to travel up to 20% of the time to domestic and international locations for field safety and inventory audits.
What You Bring
A technical diploma, or B.Eng. / B.Sc. in an applicable discipline related to electrical systems, instrumentation, and communications
Fluent in Spanish or Portuguese
3-5 years related direct field or coordination experience in a related field
Possess a valid G-class driver's license.
Own a valid passport for international travel
Assets
Working knowledge of the key aspects of passive seismic monitoring systems including instrumentation, data acquisition and processing, system design and deployment
Prior experience with and working knowledge of commercial wireless communications technologies (cellular, VSAT, SS radio)
