About you


You're a leader who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and strives to go above and beyond when accomplishing your daily duties. You have strong experience in maintaining ice and sports fields, event set-up/conversions and have the ability to work flexible hours. You're a problem solver who makes innovative suggestions and ensures public safety at all times.







Responsibilities:


You are required to work with minimal supervision in all phases of the operation of a Multi-use Facility. The incumbent will be required to assess work priorities and carry out duties with minimal supervision.



Duties included but not limited to:


Building/equipment maintenance, customer service and janitorial duties.
Ice making and maintenance.
Direct and coordinate part-time employees.
Event set-up/conversions - Kitchener Auditorium Complex.
Maintains sports fields in the summer, including cutting grass, line trimming, general litter clean-up.










Requirements:


Must have a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Must possess a minimum of 12 months experience working in an artificial ice arena.
Must have a valid "G" class driver's license in good standing.
Must have a valid TSSA Refrigeration Operator B certificate.
Must successfully complete required progression criteria as it relates to this position (CUPE 68).
Must be flexible to work varying shifts, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, and overtime as required.
Must have demonstrated communication skills with a customer service focus.
Must be able to keep accurate records and logs for facility incidents and equipment.
Must be prepared to be trained in the operation of all related equipment and work skills
Must be a team player.
Must be willing to attend mandatory staff training sessions and successfully pass the course requirements.
Must have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
Must attend and successfully complete emergency first-aid training.
Must have or be able to obtain computer competency in ActiveNet, Building Controls and Outlook, as well as basic Microsoft Office.
Preference will be given to candidates with ice resurface experience, tractor/loader, and turf maintenance experience.
Current Employees: Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
