(COMMUNICATIONS AND SOCIAL MEDIA ADVISOR)Office of the Associate Vice-President (Academic) and Dean of Students (Two-Year Contractual Position)DUTIESReporting to the Associate Vice-President (Academic) and Dean of Students, and working closely with the Senior Communications Advisor, Office of the Associate Vice-President (Academic) and Dean of Students, this role will be responsible for the execution of comprehensive digital communications strategies and social media plans for various student service and support initiatives, managing ongoing digital communications activities and creating new digital activities in support of the work of units within the AVP(A) and Dean of Students portfolio, with the focus on student life, wellness programming and the multi-dimensional student. Duties include working in collaboration with the Senior Communications Advisor to create and oversee the quality, consistency and relevance of digital content on the MUN Students social media channels; creating digital and video content; creating and executing a social media strategy, including managing all social channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook) and preparing analytics reports; updating and maintaining the web; liaising with the Senior Communications Advisor and with staff in the Division of Marketing and Communications for promotional campaigns (including social strategy and print collateral) in support of student success programs and events; assigning and managing work of student employees; and performing other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSExperience (3-5 years) in communications or public relations; graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in communications, public relations or marketing; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Expert knowledge of and experience in digital communications and social media is required. Experience using graphic design programs such as Canva, social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, and video creation and editing tools such as CapCut is required. Familiarity with the university is considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have proven capacity to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously, to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a complex and changing environment.SALARY $58,682 - $82,150 per annum (Management and Professional) An upscale hiring step will be applied to this position (Step 6)CLOSING DATE April 22, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. NDTCOMPETITION NO.
