The position of the English Instructor (Summer Camp) is responsible for instructing English programing during the Summer Camp. Responsibilities included, but are not limited to: Facilitate and deliver pre-planned activities and lessons Encourage and engage students to speak English Supervise multiple local walking excursions Adapt to different learning levels and English language speaking levels Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment Provide feedback to summer camp students on English language skills Keeping an organized calendar of all scheduled shifts The supervision and safety of participants during Summer Camp Programming Communicating with your supervisor regarding any needs or concerns Maintaining a professional, positive and helpful attitude Wearing appropriate dress as a classroom instructor Clocking in at the start of each shift and clocking out at the end of each shift Adhering to CIC Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Qualifications: High school Diploma required (OSSD) Enrollment in or completion of a University degree or College diploma preferred but not required Concurrent or Consecutive Education students encouraged to apply Work experience with Youth Provide a valid and current vulnerable sector check Computer literacy with Microsoft programs; specifically PowerPoint Proven ability to be student-centered Detail and task oriented Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong communication, prioritization, and time management skills Able to work as part of a team Able to multi-task, work under pressure, and be adaptable where necessary Multilingual: fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, or Vietnamese is an asset Hours of work: Seasonal Position Hours per week may vary depending on student enrollment Columbia International College is committed to workplace diversity and provides accommodations, whenever possible, to applicants with disabilities throughout our hiring process.
