Summary
As a Level 2 Water Treatment Operator, you monitor and control operations of the Water & Wastewater Control Systems, working under supervision. Experience working with a GE-Ultra Filtration Membrane System is an asset. This position requires long periods of standing, and repetitive use of hand/arms to use tools and supplies. Job tasks may occur in any area of the plant, require good physical stamina, and are labor intensive in an often fast-paced work environment. The water treatment team is essential in assisting the business achieve its production goals.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Alberta 2nd Class Water Treatment certificate from college or technical school
Strong computer application skills in all of the following:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo, or equivariant
Classifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess and maintain either a Level II Alberta water treatment certification or an equivalent reciprocal license.
Must obtain and maintain WHMIS certification. (company provided)
Must obtain and maintain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification. (company provided)
Must obtain H2S certification. (company provided)
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups, management, supervisors, and fellow coworkers.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or group situations to other employees of the organization.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. You are occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
You must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. You are frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
You are occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
Examples of hazardous chemicals on site are Chlorine and Ammonia.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
