Saulteaux First Nation is compiling a list of Substitute teachers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide written report back to classroom teacher regarding the day’s activities and occurrences
• General classroom duties
• Must be able to travel to community
• Nurture, support and guide young learners
• Follow a teacher’s substitute guide
• Use appropriate technology and media, as per the teacher’s instructions
• Facilitate learning activities both within the classroom setting and outdoors
• Participate in co-curricular school activities
• Promote and maintain high standards of behaviour, respect and safety within the classroom
• Support families with open, ongoing communication
• Follow course timelines and materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts
Position Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor of Education from recognized post secondary institution
• Saskatchewan Professional ‘A’ Teaching Certificate
• Understands and uses current classroom management strategies
• Models a strong work ethic as well as high standards of commitment
• Must have an awareness and appreciation of Native culture
• Fosters school mission, values and sense of community through student-centered decisions
• Effectively communicates with staff, parents and students
• Maintains professionalism through all school interactions and activities
• Values continual growth and development of school programs and curriculum
Saulteaux Heritage School: K5-8 located in Saulteaux First Nation, approx. 40km North of North Battleford

Application Package must include:
• Cover Letter & Resume including detailed work history and education information
• Copy of B.Ed. Diploma from recognized post-secondary institution
• Copy of Saskatchewan Professional ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘Vocational’, ‘Technical’, or ‘Probationary B’ Teaching Certificate
• 3 Professional references
• A clear Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
