Duties
As a member of the Trail Crew, you will work as part of a team to build, repair, and maintain trails, bridges, and other trail infrastructure for Parks Canada Agency. You will provide labour services in both front- and back-country locations using hand tools, chainsaws, brush saws, and other mechanized equipment. The work is conducted outdoors in all weather conditions; it is physically demanding and requires individuals to be physically fit and adaptable.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada's outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies covering over 11,000 square kilometers. Situated within this is an extensive historic trail network with over 1000km of trails ranging from easily accessible and family friendly front country trails to iconic multi day backcountry trails passing though the remote wilderness of Jasper National Park.

Intent of the process
The result of this process will be used to fill potential year-round and seasonal GL-MAN-03 vacancies that may arise in the Jasper Field Unit. A list of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions within Parks Canada Agency. Tenures could vary depending on the position being staffed (ie. determinate, indeterminate, seasonal, acting, assignment, part-time, full-time, etc.)
