Job Title: Plant Operator

Location: Peace River, AB

Early in 2022, Source entered into an agreement with Canadian Silica Industries Inc. (CSI) which will resulted in Source assuming all operations, distribution, and sale of domestic frac sand from CSI's Peace River facility. This transaction provided Source with the opportunity to integrate Peace River frac sand into Source's leading distribution network resulting in low-cost production with significant logistical advantage and ensures efficiency of supply for our customers while expanding the company's footprint and product offerings as well.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Operate the plant processing circuits to maximize plant efficiency and uptime
  • Clean up spillage of sand, rock, or mud at conveyor transfer points, feeder discharges, plant leakage areas, and spillovers. Keeps building floors washed down and all trash and spent maintenance materials properly disposed of
  • Accurately complete daily production reports
  • Communicate operational status of production to appropriate parties throughout shift
  • Monitor quality samples and adjust systems as needed
  • Perform plant inspections and report issues to shift supervisor
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products and processes to assure a quality product
  • Analyze information and use reason to address issues and problems. Requires a high degree of accuracy
  • Follow the Company's laboratory best practices and safety standards
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment; as well as knowledge of how to run equipment properly
  • Learn all normal laboratory calculations for the product being developed
  • Document results clearly and thoroughly along with proper record keeping for daily production and inspections
  • Maintain laboratory working areas to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions
  • Operate equipment including skid steer, dingo, telehandler, man lift, loader etc.
  • Observe and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations and to identify malfunctions
  • Pull product sample for quality control and adhere to strict quality control standards
  • Assist maintenance with special projects when required
  • Perform basic plant maintenance duties within scope
  • Cross-train in other positions as needed
  • Promote a positive company image during the course and scope of the performance of these duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Who We're Looking For:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge of plant processing circuits
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, maintaining a mutually respectful work culture
  • Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug, alcohol and fit suitability testing
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply written procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous manufacturing and/or production experience, preferred.
  • Ability to multitask.
